At the American Geophysical Union Fall Meeting of 30,000 earth scientists, Ross Stein gave a keynote Centennial talk on the theme of seismic hazards. Ross focused on this year’s Earthquake Early Warning’s launch in California; on the discoveries and concerns growing out of the 2019 magnitude-7.1 Ridgecrest, California, shock; on building testable global seismic hazard assessments; and on communicating seismic risk to the most vulnerable of the world’s population.
