A vigorous seismic swarm is in progress in the Brawley Seismic Zone, a fault band that connects the Imperial Fault with the San Andreas. The Zone has a history of swarms, perhaps triggered by fluids infiltrating faults. Five M≥4 shocks have struck so far.
