M5.0 quake in the Philippines

A M5.0 quake struck just off the eastern coast of Luzon in the Philippines at a depth of approx 48 km according to the USGS. The region lies wedged between two converging tectonic plates. Because of this, the Philippines are subject to frequent earthquakes.
