Jumpstart provides consumers a financial jumpstart after an earthquake. It’s a first-of-a-kind type of insurance, called “parametric,” which provides a lump-sum payment right away upon occurrence of a pre-defined shaking intensity. Payments are directly-deposited without a deductible or a claims adjuster, and you can use the money for whatever you need. Not a substitute for conventional earthquake coverage, it’s a standalone, budget-friendly option for both renters and homeowners. Currently available in California.
